Happy Almost Easter everybody! As I write this we are in the car driving 15 hours from NJ to Florida in order to spend Easter in beautiful Ponte Vedra Florida with some of our family that lives there.
I have been so busy doing last minute preparations for the trip that somehow Easter crept up on me! I just realized that I never shared my Easter Bar Cart decorations and the FREE Easter printable I designed for you guys.
I’m really thrilled with how the DIY Easter Egg Garland turned out! It was really easy to pull off! Basically all I did was go to Target and purchased a few bags of the cheap plastic eggs that have the tiny holes in the top. Not sure what the holes are actually for (perhaps to let air in so the candy doesn’t melt?) but they are great for stringing wire through in order to make a garland.
The first thing I did was brush on a thin layer of Modge Podge on each egg and then sprinkled gold glitter randomly all over it. I like the uneven look when glitter is applied heavily on some areas and thinner on others. This allowed for the color of each egg to show through. I then propped each egg up on a shot glass( we love our cocktails so we had plenty of them) and let them dry. Once they were dry I then brushed on another layer in order to “set” the glitter so it would stay put. If you have never worked with Modge Podge, you can tell it’s dry when it turns from white to clear. At that point I strung each egg on thin green craft wire and then attached it to my bar cart. Done!
The little “Easter Tree” was a Target purchase from about ten years ago and the brown ceramic bunny on the bottom shelf was a dollar store purchase. The other items are just things that I had around the house that I put on the bar cart in place of what is normally there. When I want to decorate our bar cart for different holidays and occasions the first thing I do is “shop my house.” I just grab things that are lying around that I feel would go well with the current theme. In this case it was just my pretty blue pitcher and the blue and white striped condiment dish.
I created this pretty printable and it’s available for FREE in 8×10, 5×7, and 3.5 x 5 sizes. Just choose your size below and print out. It makes a great last minute decoration around your home for the Easter Brunch, Lunch, or Dinner you are hosting or as a nice little hostess gift when framed and wrapped in pretty wrapping paper.
