I can’t believe that the end of 2015 is drawing near. I always love the beginning of a new year because it signifies a fresh start. How great is it to look at an empty calendar before you just waiting to be filled with infinite possibilities?
I have rounded up 16 beautiful and unique calendars each filled with “frame-worthy” pieces of art. Not only have I included calendars from favorites such as Cavallini and Rifle but also from lesser known independent artists as well. There is something for everyone here: botanicals, floral and fauna, maps, Japanese art, motivational quotes, blueprints, watercolors, abstract art and more.
I will list each calendar with the price and a link where to purchase toward the end of this post.
But first do you need a little inspiration on how to use calendar pages as artwork? Take a look….
The bright colors of the above calendar pages make a big statement when grouped together. An oversized piece of art that size would have been fairly pricey. In this case you get the same effect but for a fraction of the cost.
A 2012 botanical wall calendar from Rifle Paper Co provided the sweet floral artwork in the above nursery. The added ribbon and photo mats made them look like pricey pieces of art that you would find at a children’s furniture boutique.
Once of the most challenging spaces to decorate is definitely the dreaded long hallway. Another calendar from Rifle Paper Co came to the rescue! John and Sherry from Young House Love spent under $50 putting this little gallery together. See how they did it here.
The above wall art over the bed was made from a 99 cent calendar. The pages were hung with ribbon that the owner already had on hand. This is an example of how you don’t even need to use picture frames in order to make beautiful art out of calendar pages. You can see the rest of the room here.
The above artwork is from an amazing Ohio farmhouse that was featured in Country Living Magazine. It works so well because one would never guess it was from a calendar! The owner chose just a select few pages from an old Audubon calendar to frame and by doing so made the art seem more expensive and like “real” art.
Cyndi from The Creativity Exchange used pages from Rifle Paper Co’s 2015 “Travel The World” calendar to decorate a wall in her daughter’s bedroom. She spray painted 9 11×14 frames that she got for 50% off with Rustoleum gold paint. She also had mats custom cut to fit the art at her local Hobby Lobby. This can be pricey but she had a 40% off coupon which helped keep the price down.
The concept of using calendar pages as an affordable art option is not a new one but can be overwhelming with all the cheesy calendars circulating around out there. I made it easy for you guys and came up with 16 beautiful 2016 calendars filled with “frame-worthy” pages.
