One week until Christmas! Yikes. Where did December go? The halls are decked and the shopping is done. Every year we host Christmas at our house. Both sets of grandmothers are here to open presents with us Christmas morning and then the work begins! It’s crazy but we wouldn’t have it any other way. We have approximately 20 people here for Christmas Dinner.
The highlight of the evening is always when we break out our “Homemade Bailey’s Irish Cream.” This stuff is the real deal. If you are a Bailey’s Irish Cream lover, this recipe will knock your socks off. Even the “non-drinkers” in our family love the stuff. There are so many ways to enjoy it……..in your coffee, poured over ice-cream, or how we like it just served “straight up.” We like to get everyone a little liquored up before we do our annual “Yankee Grab Bag.” A few of the shy ones are too afraid to get up and snatch a gift right out of someone else’s hand. After throwing back a couple glasses of this fabulous concoction, well …… let’s just say that no longer is a problem for most.
Please take note that the IDEAL way to prepare our Bailey’s Irish Cream version is to mix it up in a blender and then let the concoction sit overnight in the refrigerator. This allows for all of the flavors to gel together nicely. You can serve it chilled or allow it to come to room temperature. I also don’t recommend serving it over ice. The ice ends up watering it down.. and nobody wants that!!
Also take note of my new Free Holiday printable I created above. I love the colors and once again it’s in my obsession of the moment….. PLAID!

I have mentioned this before in this post but I just love decorating Bar Carts for the holidays. All I did here was switch the cocktail napkins out for holiday ones, sprinkled a few ornaments around, created a holiday printable, added a couple of small décor pieces (the tree and santa boot), strung a festive banner across the front, and put out my holiday pitcher. Just a few small changes using things I already had (except the cocktail napkins which I got at Target) and I’m ready to party! I did the same thing for Halloween and you can read about that here.
So now that you all have our secret family recipe for “Homemade Bailey’s Irish Cream” I expect to hear all about the craziness that ensued at your holiday parties once it made it’s appearance!!
