I must admit one of my favorite pastimes is strolling through amazing over the top model homes and pretending I’m house hunting.
It’s a great way to get decorating and remodeling ideas for your own home. There are a couple of things you will need if you are up to the task. First a camera of some sort to take loads and loads of pictures and second a willing participant who loves living in fantasy land as much as you do.
On our latest trip to Florida we explored the massive community called ‘Nocatee” which is located in Ponte Vedre Florida. My mother in-law recently purchased a home there in the beautiful retirement section called “Del Webb.”
There are numerous neighborhoods in the planned community of Nocatee. One of the main attractions is the family centered “Splash Park” which is available to every resident to use. It’s pretty much a full blown water park complete with a huge water slide and a lazy river.
We went to one of the pricier sections called “The Island at Twenty Mile” and our first stop was “The La Rocque” model by David Weekly Homes. It’s 4,329 square feet with 3-5 bedrooms (there are 2 bonus rooms on the second floor that can also be used as bedrooms), 4.5 bathrooms, and a 3 car garage.
Isn’t she just so lovely? Walking up to the house the first thing I noticed was the little court yard tucked toward the front of the house with comfy outdoor seating and a fireplace.
A perfect spot to curl up with a glass of wine to unwind after a long day.
The heart of this home is the massive family room which is open to a gourmet kitchen.
I love the little seating area off of the dining area in the kitchen. This is a perfect spot for guests to hang out in while you are working in the kitchen.
A huge to die for pantry is right off of the kitchen..
The master bedroom is on the first floor right off of the family living area.
I have always wanted a similar seating area in our bedroom..
Amazing master closet with built ins…
I did not get another photo of the master closet but there is a center island and an entire wall of drawers and more shelving.
Check out the gorgeous outdoor living area…
Another stand out feature of this home are the two separate sitting areas on the second floor which are perfect for large families with lots of kids. At first I thought this to be insanely excessive but really it’s not any different then having a huge finished basement as many have in the North East where we live. The separate sitting areas each has a bedroom close by.
There is a ” jack and jill” bathroom between the two bedrooms..
Just for the record I did not take pictures of every single space and room in this model home. I have no association with this builder. I just took a few snap shots of my favorite parts of the model. I can’t wait to show you the next model we explored..look for it in the next post.
