I am really excited about the new line at Target called Pillowfort. The first I heard of this collection was from Emily Henderson in her post here. It’s a large collection of very cool baby, kid, and teen décor items. I believe it’s meant to be geared more to the baby and kid genre but after looking through all the product I found some great stuff for teenagers.
Pretty much all of the décor that I came across that is “teen appropriate” is geared toward girl teens and not so much for the boys. The timing of this is perfect for me since we are in the middle of my teen daughter’s bedroom makeover. You can see her gallery wall that we put together here in this post.
Most of the large stuff is done in her room. We just need to finish it off with a few accessories here and there. I saw more then just a few things in the Pillowfort line that would work perfectly. Here is a little snapshot of her room so far..
Honestly, I need this room to be done. Soon. When I made the decision to involve my daughter in pretty much every aspect of putting the room together I don’t think I was prepared for how it would play out. Sometimes when we hit a road block and can’t agree on something I honestly need to walk away from the situation. Like the time when I added a few gold metallic accents and she came home from school and was like “OMG Mom what’s going on with all this cheesy gold in here.. what happened??” and I wanted to wring her little neck.. I had to step away from it for a couple of weeks. I just couldn’t anymore. Then after a bit she came to me with the idea of rose gold accents and I thought for a bit and said “sounds perfect..” It’s all about the compromise.
So on to Pillowfort… Here are a few of the items that jumped out at me and said “Teen”!
Fabulous Art work
A few other pieces of art that caught my eye….
Cage Pendant Ceiling Light
a few other lighting options I’m loving…
Bean Bag Chair
This corduroy bean bag comes in so many colors: Aqua Mint, Blue, Yellow, Gray, Orange, Red, and Violet. A color for everyone and I mean seriously what teen room is complete without a bean bag chair?
Hello Wall Plaque
I seriously love this! How cute would this look in a gallery wall or even positioned over a photo like below..
3 Pack Arrow Plaques
These cute arrows also come in softer colors….
Because even a teenager needs a nightlight once in awhile..so might as well make it a cute one.
Wood Milk Crate
Cause what teenager on this planet doesn’t need tons of storage for all of their &%$#@*!?
and if your space is tight but you need more storage then the average Joe …..
You can stack these babies high and perhaps put them next to a vanity and fill with hair styling tools and other beauty essentials or tuck in a closet and fill with scarves, purses, belts, tights, etc.
This little wire gold shelf is on my list for my daughter’s room. Since she is not digging the whole gold accent look I most likely will spray paint it rose gold (which she likes) or perhaps white. We need a piece or two of “non artwork” in the space. I love the gallery wall that we did in there but if I add anymore artwork it’s gonna start to look really crowded. A good solution to this is to add shelves, marquee lights, mirrors, wall decals, anything “non art work ” like. Such as……these cute items..
Scallop Accent Table
I love this little accent table which will work perfectly as a nightstand. It also comes in white and gray..
love love love..
Wild and Free Wall Art
I love this saying “Wild and Free”…. how everyone should feel at least once in their life! This piece makes a great powerful statement because it’s so oversized at approximately 32″ x 32”. If we had room for it, this would have definitely made it into “A’s” (my daughter) room.
This wire sign also caught my eye..
Cause who says your pillowcases have to match the rest of your bedding anyway? As a matter of fact mixing and matching the linens on your bed gives your space a more casual eclectic look. Check out more pillowcases from this line…
So there you have it.. What do you guys think of the Pillowfort collection from Target? The only bummer is that when I looked up these pieces online a good amount were not available either online or in the stores yet. I’m hoping this is because its brand new and the stores have not gotten full inventory yet.
**Since I published this post Emily Henderson posted on her blog a fabulous playroom that she designed with all Target Pillowfort items and I just had too include a picture or two. Read her post and see all the pictures here .
